CFO, ph.AG (KAEX)

ph.AG (KAEX), has specialised in the development and marketing of a product that supports the body after exercise. The product became known as KAEX and combines 25 synergistic elements to support the body’s complex responses. Following its launch in 2017, KAEX quickly gained recognition from health professionals and sports clubs.

ph.AG (KAEX) launched a capital increase together with crowdinvesting provider Conda. Together with Aequitec, the shares of ph.AG (KAEX) were digitised and can now be managed via the Aequitec application.

We spoke to CFO Sandro Jordi to find out how Aequitec was able to help ph.AG (KAEX) digitise its share register.

Why did you decide in favour of a capital increase through crowdinvesting?

We decided to raise capital through crowdinvesting because we firmly believe that our community is an integral part of our success. With the opportunity to invest in KAEX, we gain a broader community of supporters and customers. They will be able to participate in our growth.

Why did you look for a share register solution?

This is now our second capital increase via crowdinvesting at Conda. We already gained 246 new investors in the first crowdinvesting round and with the second capital round we gained another 500 shareholders. With such a high number of shareholders, it is crucial to have professional software to maintain the share register. This saves us time, allowing us to focus more on further growth.

Why did you choose Aequitec as your share registrar?

Aequitec AG guided us through the capital increase process with its expertise. We were particularly impressed by the clean processing of the complete share history. This was decisive for me in comparison to other providers. Aequitec’s software looks more professional overall and fulfils the expectations of institutional investors. This means that we are ideally equipped for future, larger investment rounds and the complex due diligence processes.

If you hadn’t implemented our solution, what would have happened?

It was important to switch to professional software, otherwise we would have been bogged down in investor relations work. A capital increase ties up a lot of resources. It is important to automate certain processes right from the start. As a company, you shouldn’t wait until the capital increase is complete, but should prepare everything cleanly beforehand to massively reduce manual labour afterwards.

What advice would you give companies considering using Aequitec?

As a company, you should think carefully about when to introduce a professional share register solution. It is often underestimated how quickly the costs of managing shareholders increase. It is therefore advisable to migrate the share register to professional software before the capital increase, for example. If you wait too long, the susceptibility to errors and possibly the labour costs will increase.

Thank you very much Sandro. We look forward to continuing to work with you and are eagerly following your next steps!
